wireless speakers

Will wireless speakers ever be as good as cabled?

I rent an old home withe plaster board and knocking holes in my walls to run wire for my system is not an option, but I haven't found a decent way to hide the wires. I was considering wireless for the rear speakers, but its pricey and i'm worried about quality.

Anyone use wireless in their system?

Re: wireless speakers

I personally have never purchased any wireless speakers. I do have a few friends and family that have and I have yet to encounter any that are not noisy, much less of any level of quality.

I'm in the hi-fidelity first class traveling set...

I don't think that wireless speakers exist which could really replace your wired set, but I've gotten a ton of enjoyment out of these:

I have the transmitter connected to a Pioneer VSX receiver, and the speakers work well anywhere in my house and yard (where the maximum distance is less than half of the 300-ft stated range).  I use them mostly out on my deck in the summer, and indoors whenever I'm working upstairs, downstairs or in the garage and I want to enjoy what I have playing on the system in my living room.

The sound isn't nearly as clear or clean as a good pair of wireless speakers (understandable at only $100/pair), but deeper and richer than I expected and generally free of pops and static.
